YP Network Brainstorms at Biennial Assembly During FOCUS Weekend

awardThe worldwide AGBU Young Professionals (YP) Network recently convened its Biennial Assembly during AGBU FOCUS weekend in San Francisco. The YP Assembly brings together YP Group and YP Partner representatives to brainstorm and exchange ideas, as well as discuss areas of opportunity for cross cooperation and collaboration. Kicking off with a video prepared by YP Montréal, this year’s meeting highlighted ways to build capacity for the global network and strengthen connections with the Armenian community at large.

Brainstorming ideas for new initiatives in the future, representatives celebrated the recent completion of the Pan-YP Greenhouse Project which was conceived at the YP Assembly in Paris in 2011. In recent years, the YP Network has focused its global initiatives on environmentally friendly green projects. The Greenhouse Project for the village of Barekamavan, Armenia is the second collective initiative launched by the YP Network in 2013, following the development of a new park in Khachik, Armenia in 2010. The local host of FOCUS, YP Northern California, which is co-chaired by Steven Cherezian and Greg Nemet, was also honored with a Teamwork Award in appreciation of the group’s service and commitment to AGBU. Through fundraising and promotional activities, the YP Network helped support FOCUS by building momentum in the months preceding the weekend.
